How do I measure and order my chop?
• Order using normal measurements. Identify first the moulding you want and then the acrylic insert color you want when placing your order.
• Use the moulding corner label to confirm part codes for both the moulding and the acrylic colors
• Chop will be delivered with acrylic strips precisely miter cut and positioned in the moulding
Are the acrylic strips glued into the moulding?
• No – if the acrylic feels loose in the channel, used a small drop of glue in the channel after you have joined the frame, to secure the acrylic strips in place
I can’t remove the acrylic strips from my chop.
• We recommend joining the chop with the acrylic strips in place to ensure perfect acrylic corner joins. Please refer to assembly instructions included with your chop
How do I join the chop?
• Instructions will be included with each chop
How do I make a jig for my underpinner?
• You can use any material available in your shop to build a jig that protects the top of the acrylic from the downward pressure of the underpinner clamp arm
Do you provide the super glue for acrylic miter joining?
• No. Use clear super glue/plastic model glue, available through craft stores and on-line
Can I order replacement moulding or acrylic individually?
• In order to ensure precise fit and join, moulding and acrylic are chopped together, and must be ordered together
How do I clean the acrylic strips?
• We suggest wearing white gloves during assembly to minimize fingerprinting
• Use a microfiber cloth to remove any fingerprints and lint on assembled frame
What kind of wood is used to make the moulding?
• Finger-joined pine, for a highly stable moulding.
• Finish is a wrap that provides a picture-perfect, smooth and flaw-free moulding surface
