We recently visited Shelly, one of our framing partners, to see how she is using her Matting Style Selector tool, which is just one of the rewards you can choose through the Crescent Rewards program. The Matting Style Selector tool is a framed piece that displays 12 matting ideas to help your customers envision some enhanced matting techniques. We developed the Rewards program and the tools to help our framing partners be more successful and Shelly is experiencing the way the tools are helping her business.
Shelly owns South Shore Framing Gallery and she displays her Matting Style Selector tool near her work table. Shelly told us the display is already making an impact on average order sales.
"I have been using the Matting Style Selector tool, and it has been helping my customers see how we can enhance their framed pieces. I have the selector tool on an easel, and my customers are asking me which options would be a good fit for their pieces. For me it’s so much easier if the customer sees something they like and want to add it to the order. I recently had a customer come in with a historical document signed by Abraham Lincoln and she came in thinking she would go with a simple white mat. While I was working with another customer, she stood in front of the Matting Style Selector and when I was ready to assist her, she already had some new ideas for how she wanted her piece to be matted. We decided on a triple mat with an 8-Ply and an open V-groove using Crescent’s 1123 New Castle Grey and 1129 Bluff.
The customer is thrilled with the way the piece turned out. I've only had the tool in my store for a couple of weeks and I have already had customers add design cuts, French matting and Bright Core.
This is such an easy way to add value to each piece I frame. I had always thought about creating samples with matting ideas, but I don’t have the wall space. This tool is so smart and compact, I wish I would have had it sooner. I always scan my Crescent matboards to earn points for great rewards. I’m thrilled with this one!”
